Therapy for Men in London & Online — BACP-Registered

Grounded, confidential therapy for men — for anxiety, shame, anger, and the things that rarely get spoken about.

Many men grow up hearing that showing emotion is a sign of weakness. From childhood, phrases like “man up” or “don't cry” teach us to lock away vulnerability — a conditioning that often leads to isolation, anxiety, and strained relationships. When usual coping strategies run out, some men turn to alcohol, work, or other distractions to avoid feelings of powerlessness, anger, or sadness, and can find themselves withdrawing from the very relationships they need most.

Therapy for men in London is a space to explore the inner tensions that too often go unspoken. As a male psychosynthesis counsellor, I work with men to gently explore emotions, build resilience, and create deeper, more honest connections — with yourself, and with others. You don't need to prove anything here — this is a space to be fully human: strong and vulnerable, thoughtful and uncertain.

What Therapy for Men in London Can Help With

  • Stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm
  • Depression, low mood, and feelings of emptiness
  • Relationship or intimacy difficulties, and fear of vulnerability
  • Anger, shame, or long-suppressed feelings
  • Identity, life purpose, and existential questions
  • Loneliness, isolation, or feeling like everything is too much to carry alone

If that last one feels close to home right now, please don't wait for a session — Samaritans are there any time, day or night, free, on 116 123. I'll still be here when you're ready to talk further.

A Grounded Approach to Therapy for Men

Therapy for men in London

My work draws on several strands that reflect your full humanity — not just your thoughts, but your body, values, relationships, and deeper sense of self:

  • Humanistic counselling — warm, honest connection
  • Somatic and emotional awareness — reconnecting with your body
  • Transpersonal therapy — working with meaning, spirituality, soul
  • Psychosynthesis — integrating inner conflict and potential

This isn't about becoming someone new — it's about making space for what's already there, and often waiting to be seen.

Therapy for Men in London: What Happens in Sessions

You'll have a confidential, respectful space to speak openly — or simply sit with your feelings without pressure. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may have kept you stuck, build emotional skills, and reconnect with your inner strengths. Discovering who you really are goes far beyond old wounds and defences — gently, we can explore these, and begin to loosen their hold.

If You're New to Therapy

Many of the men I work with have never tried therapy for men in London before. It can feel awkward at first, even pointless — but what often emerges is a deep relief: “I didn't realise how much I was holding.”

“Where a man's wound is, that is where his genius will be.”— Robert Bly, Iron John
“I thought I had to figure it all out alone. I didn't realise how much I was holding until I said it out loud. Now I feel like I can breathe again.”— Male client (anonymous, shared with permission)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it normal to feel awkward starting therapy as a man?
Completely. Many clients arrive uncertain or even sceptical, and that's a fine place to start — you don't need the right words or a clear sense of what's wrong.

Do you only work with men on “men's issues”?
No — men come to me for the same range of reasons anyone does: anxiety, relationships, life transitions, self-worth. My experience with men specifically means I understand some of the particular pressure around expressing all of that.

How much does it cost, and can sessions be online?
Sessions are £70, 50 minutes. In-person in Farringdon, London, is recommended where possible; online sessions are available for those based outside London.
